The Market Surveillance Act is intended to ensure uniform market surveillance in the EU for non-food products that are subject to harmonized rules or not. The law transfers the relevant provisions from the EU Market Surveillance Regulation into German law. In addition the EU Market Surveillance Regulation foresees fines and penalties in case of non-compliance.
